Few days ago, I tried to install Linux in my Laptop. I used Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex), not the newest one but I got the modified one that better than the original version.
First of all, if you want yours you must get graphic driver. I use Nvidia 9300 that compatible with nVidia accelerated graphics driver version 173 or 177. I search it and each driver consist of three file. And version 177, I got two different package 80 and 82. In my Intrepid Ibex, I use version 177 package 82, although all the version and package work well. I prefer to nVidia driver version 177 package 82.
I want to help the others, that need driver as same as mine. Just go to this URL and download file with extension .deb. One important information, you read the file name if found this word ‘amd64’ means this file for AMD processor and if you found this ‘i386’ it means for Intel processor.
After you get all the file install kernel-source, dev, than the last one 177. For example me I install :
After that you go to System, Preferences, Driver, and Activate. Then you will ask to enter your password. After it activated you should restart your computer.
Try this ways. I hope it will help you. See ya……
